President Buhari should stop wailing - Prof. Ochonu

President Buhari is on an island all by himself, talking to himself. He says successive PDP governments wasted what accrued to Nigeria during the recent oil boom. That's true, but that's an indictment on at least 40 percent of the top politicians in the APC who participated in the PDP's 16 year plunder before crossing over to the APC.
This group includes his minister of transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, his minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe, among other top officials in his government. The president says the PDP administrations failed to save for the rainy day. Again, this is true, but was it not Amaechi and Oshiohmole, two top APC chieftains, who as governors of Rivers and Edo respectively (and the former as NGF chairman) filed a lawsuit against the Jonathan administration demanding that the excess crude account, Nigeria's rainy day fund, be declared unconstitutional and that its content be shared to them? Didn't the same duo also demand that the Sovereign Wealth Fund be scrapped and the funds distributed among the tiers of government? As a result of their lawsuit and their constant media blackmail on the issue, the excess crude account was shared to governors and promptly gobbled up. Sometimes Buhari should look inward and ask his top political allies what they were thinking when they were participating in and advocating the profligacy and waste he now rightly denounces.
